Multi-purpose Aerospace Park

Aerospace experiments take off here, at our
1,300-m runway and two hangars.

HOSPO has a 1,300-m runway and two hangars for storing equipment and other materials. The runway is available for the flight tests of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), drones, and electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, as well as for small rocket launch experiments. The runway can also be used for the takeoffs and landings of small aircraft and for various events.

Application Processes

01How to apply for use

  1. Please use the inquiry button below if you might be interested in using our services.
    After we receive your inquiry, a SPACE COTAN representative will send you a confirmation e-mail with details.

  2. Fill out the Hokkaido Spaceport (HOSPO) Usage Application Form and submit it via e-mail to the SPACE COTAN representative.

  3. If necessary, multiple meetings and adjustments will be conducted to finalize the usage conditions. Once these conditions are confirmed, a usage permit will be issued. Please use HOSPO in accordance with the terms specified in the permit.

  4. After using HOSPO, please submit a Work Log and Experiment Results Report.

  5. An invoice for the usage fee will be issued based on the content of the Work Log and Experiment Results Report. Please make the payment by the specified due date.

Important Notes

  • The Hokkaido Spaceport (HOSPO) Usage Application Form will be reviewed by SPACE COTAN Co., Ltd. and Taiki Town to assess the feasibility of the proposed experiments or events.
  • To coordinate usage schedules with other businesses and organizations, the application details may be shared with relevant parties as needed. If there is any information that cannot be shared, please contact SPACE COTAN Co., Ltd.
  • Depending on the nature of the experiments or events, you may be required to submit documentation in advance proving that you have obtained the necessary legal permits and approvals.
  • In the event that experiments or events cause injury to persons or damage to property, the user will be responsible for compensation.
  • The application procedures typically take several days to a few weeks. If you’ll be using HOSPO for the first time or planning experiments involving the use of the sea, the procedures may take longer. You may be required to attend meetings with relevant parties, so please contact us as early as possible if you’re planning such experiments.

04Winter surcharge

  • A heating fee of JPY 500 per day will be added for using the hangers or the meeting rooms at Taiki Space Community Center SORA between November 1 and March 31.
